Virginia's 2024 General Assembly
Bill approved by Gov. Youngkin on 4/2/24 effective
July 1, 2024.
HB986 - Virginia's General Assembly passed the bill to raise notary fees from $5.00 to $10.00 per notarization with a unanimous vote. Approved by Gov. Youngkin on 4/2/24, the new fee of $10.00 per notarization will go into effect on July 1, 2024.

Check with the Notary Division's website every July 1st that you are a notary for approvals to the Notary Law and to download the updated Virginia Handbook reflecting any changes to Notary Law and Code of Virginia pertaining to Virginia Notaries.
